What is different about my school photography?
Boutique school photography is a new kind of school portrait. I don’t force smiles and static poses but rather encourage the kids to express themselves authentically and create images that feel genuine and artistic.
I specialize in working with non-traditional schools, preschools, farm schools, and homeschool pods. I use nature as my backdrop and photograph using natural light. My service is personal and professional.
How does it work?
Everything is done online for ease and convenience. No payments are due up front by parents and there is no cost to the school. All proofing and ordering is done in an online gallery that is uploaded within a few weeks after portrait day. Every child will have a selection of multiple images in both color and black and white. Parents may choose the poses they want printed, as opposed to having one pose chosen for them. In addition to traditional packages, I also provide the option of modern product choices, like canvases and folios, as well as hi-resolution digital images.
A detailed PDF describing picture day preparation and ordering procedures will be provided to each school to be distributed to families prior to photo day.
Prints and digital files are ordered online and delivered directly to the family from the lab. I handle any questions from parents and families about ordering and products. I take staff photos and provide a complimentary print package to staff. I am happy to work with schools to provide custom services if desired.
Is it more expensive?
My prices are competitive and comparable to larger companies. No payments are due up front. There is absolutely no cost to the school. I offer a variety of collections and a-la-carte products to fit everyone’s needs. In certain circumstances, I am able to donate up to 10% of profits to the schools that I photograph!
What time of year do you offer boutique school photography?
I work with schools throughout the entire year and collaborate with each school individually to find the best date for their schedule. Some schools choose Fall and/or Spring but Winter and Summer dates are also available.
